Honouring Women Breaking Barriers and Inspiring:
Share
We celebrate the extraordinary women who defy expectations and break through barriers in male-dominated industries.
One such trailblazer is LeeAnn Yare, a pioneering female airline pilot who has soared beyond gender stereotypes to claim her rightful place in the flight deck.
Aviation has long been a field where women face significant challenges, but through determination, skill, and resilience, LeeAnn has proven that the sky is truly the limit for women in aviation.
Be courageous. 💪 Speak up. 📣Support women. 💜

1.    What’s one myth about women in your industry that you’ve shattered?
That women are too emotional to be pilots. Our emotions and empathy are two amazing qualities that make us great leaders and team mates.Â
Â
2.    What inspired you to pursue a career in this industry?
I loved the idea of flying when I was a kid, but ultimately it was the encouragement from my parents that really got me seriously interested in aviation.Â
Â
3.    How did you overcome barriers and establish yourself in your industry?
I worked hard and proved my ability. No one can ever argue with that.Â
Â
4.    What has been your proudest achievement in your career so far?
Personally, I have recently been appointed to become a 787 Captain, I start my training in April. It’s been a long time coming (I’ve been an airline pilot for 30 years) and being a heavy jet captain is really the pinnacle of an airline pilot’s career. But I’m also incredibly proud that I’ve had the opportunity to inspire many others to take up a career in aviation.Â
Â
5.    What advice would you give to young women looking to break into your field?
Everything is possible. Just not always at the same time.Â
Â
6.    What’s one piece of advice you’d give to women struggling with self-doubt in their careers?
It doesn’t always happen overnight. But consistency, had work and determination will win in the end. Just keep going.Â
Â
7.    What female/females have inspired you during the course of your career?
So many it’s impossible to narrow it down. From early female aviators, to sports stars to business leaders and more, women who are continuing to push boundaries and never accept the word no.Â
